My story begins in Paris when Alexandre Jardel takes the decision to create a company which will preserve the memories of everyone, whether they are unknown or famous, for future generations and why not eternity. Why? To give everyone the opprtunity to preserve their story and to pass it on to their descendents, and to put an end to the inter-generational "chinese whispers"! Alexandre thinks it's unfortunate to not be able to tell or explain who his ancestors were with no more than 2 dates (birth and death) or to sum them up in just 2 lines, because no-one can be summed up so shortly.

Alexandre has decided that i'll be born far from Paris and that I won't be a start up among others. He leaves to set up in Bordeaux^in order to prepare for my entrance into the world.

At the time, he's seriously thinking about naming me Bioggle because he wants to base me on Google, which is the reference of this time for finding information, and therefore the name would be an obvious choice for anyone searching a name or person. Without calling into question his ambitions regarding me, my legal peers will dissuade him...phew! Biobble is a much better name, it sounds like 'bubble'; poetic and secure.

My creator, developer and designer are very proud of seeing me walk my first steps in public and for two of them, to be able to move on to something else. The Biobble site is finally online. Anybody in the world, as long as they have access to an internet connection, can come and discover me at the address www.biobble.com. Consequently, Alexandre will do everything he can to place me under the spotlight, my announcement is published in Infrarouge magazine and i'm virtually presented to hundreds of people by email.

I've already got 500 members and to celebrate, I send them all the first edition of my e-magazine, Biobble Mag.

Meanwhile, as the magazine ça m'interesse, declares of me: "even the anonymous have a story. It's my third time on TV, this time on the program 6 Minutes on the channel M6 Bordeaux.

Alexandre writes to the minister of culture, Renaud Donnedieu de Vable, to ask him for sponsorship. After all, i'm a small company which has taken on a great challenge: to become the global registry of individual biographies. And as we never attribute to ourselves the right value by speaking of ourselves, but we always have references from the era or from society, if one day we make the ends of all these short stories meet, we can reconstitute an honest image of history, and not just the history that's taken for granted and often rewritten from history books. Didn't Kroutchev say "history doesn't need the past"?

The joke's over, I enter the big league with the two major events in my short history: I go to Paris to meet the beautiful and friendly Laura Tenoudji, aka Laura du web. You see it's my first program on a national network, and not just the lesser ones but the legendary Télématin.

But that's not all, i'm also invited to meet the technical advisor to the Minister of Culture, which goes very well and from which I emerge very confident. Our time in the spotlight has convinced our middleman, who has decided to press for our promotion, and is even speaking of building up official recognition, maybe a partnership, with the national archives.

When 'terrorism' strikes. This morning Biobble is a victim of defacing; Turk Islamist hackers have managed to break into our servers and replaced my welcome page with a clearly political message. Alexandre is in a state and makes a complaint to the specialists at the police station who deal with internet piracy.

Alexandre notices that certain people don't write their biography because they don't feel comfortable writing, are worried about spelling mistakes and grammar, don't know where to start, don't have the time to properly get involved or even because they don't want to seem like someone who wants to tell their own life story.

One must put aside their complexes - we all have unique and interesting lives. A biography is your life story, you don't need to be a celebrity to own one.

He decides therefore to launch a biography service, Biobble VIP, where professional writers will take it upon themselves to write and upload biobbles for people such as these, based on proposals received during a one to one interview. And it starts from 200 Euros, because "this service of collective memories must be accessible to the maximum number of people!".

Alexandre tells me that for my own good, he's decided that from now on i'll have a private tutor to accompany me along the inevitably difficult passage of adolescence.

In entrepreneurial language, Alexandre has associated himself with the ex-CEO of a well known website, a definitive professional in online marketing. Together they have decided that I should undergo a few operations in order to return in a few months completely transformed and ready to expand the Biobble community.

A difficult year, my heart is touched; i've not been forgotten, Jean-Michel Dumay cites me in one his columns in the very respected newspaper Le Monde : "we show ourselves to be seen, and to eventually be passed down to our descendents. On Biobble (www.biobble.com), you can for example place your biography next to that of the Abbé Pierre or of Hergé the draftsman. The site engages to preserve the information for evermore. An eternal virtual privilege, in memory, for the eyes of others..."

It's the end of December, the sky opens and the clouds disappear: i've got seven new sponsors who believe in me and decide to give me the best of chances: my capital increases to €43725, my treasury is filled to the brim and i'm ready to be reborn. The caterpillar becomes to butterfly.

Grand deception! Our sponsorship is refused by the new Minister of Culture: Christine Albanel, feshly appointed in the Fillon 1 government. Apparently our concept doesn't seem to suit the politics of culture. Or maybe the files inherited from the preceding cabinet are simply being thrown out of the system.

Alexandre thinks it's a shame: It's true that in France there aren't many web projects for the public with a mission to protect the individual's historic heritage!

This is a year of hard work, without stress nor fanciness, far from the media, a bit like Stallone in Rocky 4, I must train hard and forget what I think I know, put aside false knowledge and relearn everything. But the work pays off and at the end of the year, the new Biobble site is finally accessible to the public. With more than a fw bugs to fix, I have to say that I don't find it easy. Come on, a bit more effort!

My new features are popular: videos, anecdotes, short stories, background, hobbies, mottos, votes. The members love this new version which is more interactive and finally allows them to contact one another, interview each other, meet up in social clubs, etc. But this doesn't stop Alexandre from already thinking ahead, there are still many possibilities and surprises to come!
